Army rings troops around suspected Lanao del Norte hideaway of abducted priest

Gloria/MindaNews Thursday, 22 October 2009 18:05 ILIGAN CITY (MindaNews / October 21)) – The Army brigade here dispatched its soldiers to areas around Lanao del Norte where still unidentified abductors may have been hiding Columban missionary Fr. Michael Sinnott, and the Army commander here disclosed that the deployment was already coordinated with the coordinating body created by both peace panels of the government and the Moro guerrillas.

The coordination was made with representatives of the peace panel of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) after reports implicated some MILF members in the abduction of Sinnott.
Col. Benito de Leon, commanding officer of the 104rth Infantry Brigade said he has dispatched troops to suspected areas where Sinnott was possibly hidden to limit the movement of the abductors. MORE
