In Cotabato City, residents believe that more than 50 armed followers of the embattled Ampatuan clan have joined forces with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

“We are just amazed on why the military has been announcing that members of the armed Ampatuan militia have already gone to other provinces when, in fact, they are just roaming in mountainous areas overlooking the towns of Shariff Aguak, Ampatuan, and Datu Hofer,” a public school teacher who requested anonymity said.
